We currently have 3kw PV panels on the roof. On average, they produce about 10 kilowatt hours per day. Some days it may be as high as 19 kwh/day. On rainy overcast days production may drop to 1 to 3 kwh/day.
Originally, the solar electric (photovoltaic) panels were flush mounted on the roof; however we tilted the panels to create more space for the solar thermal collectors and to increase the efficency of the photovoltaic system. PV panels produce more energy the cooler they are.
