A plug meter was used to help quantify and eliminate plug loads. By using the meters and eliminating inefficient and unnecessary appliances and phantom loads, the base load went from 500 watts to around 100 watts with everything off. Still, on a 10kwh/day budget, over 24% of energy is being used to power things that are off! There is still some work to be done here.
