Personal mission statement:
"I live and help others live in a way that creates a Sustainable Future by learning to live in harmony with nature and treating others with love and compassion."
David Bolt, Founder
Sustainable Future, LLC
David shows his negative electricity bill from his Net Zero Energy Home
(When a home or business produces more energy than it consumes, the utility will credit your account, and issue a negative utility bill.)
The goal of Sustainable Future is to help home and business owners towards Net Zero Energy buildings, one that creates as much energy as it uses over the course of a year. Since late 2003, David started looking full time at ways to live in harmony with the Earth and at ways to help others accomplish their environmental goals as well. From countless books, lectures, and conversations David is convinced that by making simple everyday choices, we can create a sustainable future.

David is the Founder of Sustainable Future, as well as the owner, designer, and general contractor of 1st Net Zero Energy Home in the Knoxville area.
Ms. Audrey Lee is the first woman in the State of Tennessee to Pass the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) test. Passing the NABCEP test requires experience, dedication, and thorough knowledge of electrical design and proper installation of Solar PV Systems.
Julie Yeary is the Staff Accountant and HR Generalist for Sustainable Future since 2009. She earned her BA in Psychology from Carson Newman College and is currently pursuing her PHR certification in human resources.

In an effort to reduce the waste produced in doing business, SF has undertaken a recycling program of all metals, paper, plastic, and styrofoam. The single stream recycling program offered by Waste Connections takes all of our plastic containers and glass bottles. We sell scrap metals such as aluminum, tin, and copper to PSC Metals, and are paid for it.
Our office paper and cardboard is gathered in containers supplied by SP Recycling at no cost to us, and we are then paid for it. Check out some fun facts on the benefits of recycling on their website as well. Recycling is getting easier and easier, and now it pays you!
Take a look at the chart to see our recycling data...
